CENTERVILLE, Ind. –
Centerville Head Coach Seve Beach enters his third season with Bulldogs enthusiastic about the boys basketball program.

“We are excited about the direction of the program here at the start of year three,” Beach said. “We have the most kids playing at the elementary and junior high levels that we have ever had. Things are getting put into place as we add to the foundation of the overall state of the program.”

There are six seniors on the roster including All-Tri-Eastern Conference player Justin DuPree. DuPree scored 11.5 PPG and had 6.3 RPG a year ago.

DuPree’s classmates are Michael Brewer (8.0 PPG), Kody Witham (5.2 PPG), Tommy Fordonski, Ellis Washington and Zach Montour.

“We have had solid week and a half of practices so far,” Beach said. “We have a good amount of young kids that are working their tails off and listening to everything that the returning players and coaches are teaching them.”

“It has really helped get the season started on a quicker pace,” Beach added. “Part of that also is because our seventh and eighth grade coaches are doing good jobs of preparing them as incoming freshmen.”

The juniors on the roster are Dalton Stevens, Dante Torres, Peyton Hobson and Clete Schilling. Kobe Brown is a sophomore and Austin Farlow is a freshman.

“We have four kids returning that provide us with a solid core to add to,” Beach said. “Overall, we should be quick and athletic, so hopefully that can play to our advantage. Although being quicker and athletic, we will also have to focus on using that to rebound the ball as five-man unit.”

The Bulldogs open the season at Eastern Hancock on Wednesday. Centerville’s first TEC affair is at home against Northeastern on Friday, Dec. 1.
