Editor’s note: The 1994 playoff games are being played with Strat-o-Matic cards and dice. The designated hitter will be used for the American League contests as well as when those teams are at home during the World Series. Injuries will only be used during the game when they occur. For this tournament, the rules include a three-man pitching rotation using the best lineups available.
The 1994 baseball season ended in disappointment for many fans.
Hopefully, this tournament played during the same as the real major leagues will provide some answers and some memories from the 1994 season as to which team was the best.
The Montreal Expos had the best record when the season came to an end on August 11.
This season was also to be the first with Wild Cards as the teams were placed in three divisions for the first time.
In the Divisional Series, the teams will play a best of five series. The higher seed will play games three, four and five at home.
The normal best of seven format will be used for the League Championship Series and the World Series. The team with the best record will host games one, two, six and seven.
