With the bases loaded, Mark Koenig got the scoring started with an infield single that made it 1-0. Martina walked Babe Ruth, which added the second tally. Lou Gehrig‘s sacrifice fly gave the Yankees a three-run advantage.

In the fourth, Martina walked Ruth again with the bases loaded and it was 4-0.

New York picked up its last three runs in the eighth against Allen Russell. Earl Combs was issued the third bases loaded walk of the affair before Koenig’s two-run single ended the scoring.
