FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – The Northeastern baseball team used a big second inning on Monday as the Knights won 8-3 over Monroe Central.
After scoring in the bottom of the first, the Knights gave up a run in top of the second as the Golden Bears tied the contest at 1-1.
Northeastern broke open the affair with seven runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back as the Knights moved to 6-4 on the season.
Austin Kenworthy led the Knights with three hits as he knocked in three runs.
Garrett Dill earned the complete game victory for the Knights with nine strike outs.
The Knights visit Blue River on Thursday.
