UNION CITY, Ind. – Tri and Union City faced off in the opener of the Tri-Eastern Conference season on Friday night as the visiting Titans posted a 56-7 victory.
David O’Neill rushed for 311 yards on 14 carries and scored four touchdowns to lead the Titans to their first win for new head coach .
Nick Wilson also ran for 81 yards and a score. Kyler Burchett gained 38 yards and added a touchdown.
Tri quarterback Drew Mondrush was 4-of-9 passing for 81 yards. He tossed a 35-yard score to Gage Rowe and a 33-yarder to Masen Phelps.
Defensively, Mondrush led the Titans with 11 tackles including three sacks. Austin Stroud added 10 tackles.
The Titans (1-0, 1-0) entertain Centerville next Friday, while Union City is at crosstown rival Mississinawa Valley.
