LIBERTY, Ind. – Union County softball player Emma Adams is headed south to continue her career.
“I am super excited to continue my softball career at Reinhardt University,” Adams said of signing with the Georgia NAIA school on Thursday, Nov. 17. “I met coach (Jade) Geuther through my hitting coach Tyler Larison at a camp in junior high.”
A member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference, Reinhardt is located about 50 miles north of Atlanta in Waleska.
“I look forward to playing at the next level and continuing to grow at the game I love,” Adams said.
Union County coach Scott Gray was pleased with the signing.
“I’m estatic about having another girl sign to play college softball,” Gray said. “Emma has worked so hard to get to this point and is very deserving of this opportunity.”
“My favorite thing about Emma is her love and passion for the game,” Gray continued. “That will make her very successful at the next level.”
Adams led Union County with 51 hits, six home runs, 39 RBI and a batting average of .486 last season as the Patriots finished 23-7 and made an appearance in the regional finals.
Reinhardt finished 41-10 last spring winning the regular season and tournament titles in AAC. The Lady Eagles were 18-2 in conference play.
