HENRYVILLE, Ind. – The boys golf season ended for the teams from Richmond and Centerville in the Providence Regional on Thursday, June 8.
The Red Devils were 12th, while the Bulldogs finished 14th at the Champions Pointe Golf Club.
Top three finishers Center Grove (292), Floyd Central (300) and Columbus North (303) advanced to the State Finals on June 13-14. The 36-hole event is at the Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.
Richmond’s Ryder Cate earned a place as an alternate with a 74 to finish fourth among the players that did not qualify with a team.
The top two individuals not on advancing teams moving on are regional medalist Baline Beckort (70) of Providence and A.J. Agnew (72) of Borden. Cody Coleman (73) of Silver Creek and Cate are the alternates.
Centerville’s top performers were Brady Moore and Braden Tedder, who each carded an 80 for the Bulldogs.
Individually, Northeastern’s Hayden Chalfant finished with an 81. Hagerstown’s Ethan Werking ended the day with an 86.
Jackson Cornett, who had Richmond’s second best score at 87, will be attending the State Finals as one of 15 golfers to be honored during the affair as a member of the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association Academic All-State Team.
