CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – Centerville quarterback Dylan Benedict threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as the Bulldogs won 45-0 over Lincoln in Tri-Eastern Conference action on Friday.
The Bulldogs scored 21 points in the opening period and never looked back as they went to 2-0 in the TEC with an overall mark of 3-1.
Cole Cooper recovered a Lincoln fumble in the end zone for the first score of the night.
Benedict later scored on a 9-yard run and Peyton Hobson added the third touchdown of the first quarter on a 15-yard run.
In the second, Benedict tossed a 43-yard scoring strike to Nico Wankerl and then found Peyton VanWinkle on a 45-yard pass to give the Bulldogs a 35-0 advantage at the intermission.
Dante Torres, who booted six PATs on the night, kicked a 30-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Cooper grabbed a 5-yard touchdown pass in the fourth for the final tally of the contest.
Benedict was 4-of-11 for 118 yards. Hobson led the Bulldogs with 119 yards rushing.
Wankerl topped the Bulldogs with 15 tackles, while Cooper and Shawn Halcomb had 10 each.
Centerville entertains Union City next Friday, while Lincoln (0-4, 0-2) is at Winchester.
