RICHMOND, Ind. – Centerville defeated Richmond 4-1 in the opening round of the girls tennis sectional hosted by the Red Devils on the Tiernan Center Courts.
Abby Stewart won 6-4, 6-7 (4-7),7-5 at No. 1 singles, while Addie Walther won 6-4, 6-1 in the third spot.
In doubles, Lizzy Walther and Shelby Good won 7-6 (7-1) 6-0 in the top position with Katy Stewart and Morgan Guenther winning 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2.
Centerville advances to Thursday’s semifinal round to play Northeastern. The Championship contest is set for Friday at 4:30 p.m.
