CENTERVILLE, Ind. – The Centerville softball team picked up a 6-1 win over Richmond on Wednesday as the Bulldogs honored their seniors.
Lauren Honkomp, Kaylin Smith, Amanda Wilson, Makayla Troutwine, Brittney Hughes, Maggie Curts, Natalie Josephson and Madison Clark were each recognized.
“The win or loss would have been secondary to the recognition of my seniors,” Centerville Head Coach Avon Miller said. “We played some real good ball and hit the ball pretty well. I was glad I could keep my senior squad in the full game.”
Honkomp tossed a complete game as she limited the Red Devils to just a pair of hits with six strikeouts.
Smith and Wilson led the Bulldogs with two hits each. Smith also knocked in two runs.
The Bulldogs (10-5, 3-3) are headed to Winchester on Thursday to complete a suspended Tri-Eastern Conference game.
