CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Centerville’s football season came to an end on Friday night as Eastern Hancock scored twice in the last two minutes to down the Bulldogs 35-21 in Class 2A sectional action.
A.J. Muegge had the decisive scores on a pair of short runs for the Royals at the 1:27 mark of the fourth quarter and with 52 seconds remaining.
Reese VanDevender led the Bulldogs with 180 yards rushing with two touchdowns including one for 75 yards.
Chris Pritchett added 56 yards rushing with the other score. Dante Torres kicked three PATs.
Defensively, Guy Rednour led the Bulldogs with a dozen tackles.
Kody Witham, Nico Wankerl and Peyton Hobson all had eight tackles.
Mason Peed had an interception. He also picked off a pass on a two-point conversion attempt by the Royals.
Centerville finishes the season at 7-3.
