CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Centerville scored three times in the the second period on Friday night to erase an early deficit as the Bulldogs went on to beat Union City 38-6 in Tri-Eastern Conference football action.
Union City scored its only touchdown of the contest in the first quarter on an 80-yard pass from Trevor Thompson to Kyler Purdin.
The Bulldogs answered with a 3-yard touchdown run at the beginning of the second frame as they took a 7-6 lead after Dante Torres booted the PAT.
Kody Witham added to the Centerville advantage with a 43-yard score, which was followed by another as Reese VanDevender found the end zone on a 21-yard run to give the Bulldogs a 21-6 lead at halftime.
After a scoreless third, Torres kicked a 21-yard field goal midway through the final stanza.
The Bulldogs finished their scoring on a 5-yard run by Pritchett and a 3-yard run by Guy Rednour.
Centerville (4-1, 3-0) visit Northeastern (3-2, 2-1) next Friday, while Union City (1-4, 0-3) entertains Winchester (1-4, 1-3).
