CENTERVILLE, Ind. – The Centerville boys tennis team remained unbeaten in the Tri-Eastern Conference on Monday as the Bulldogs won 4-1 over Lincoln.
The Bulldogs (7-1, 3-0) picked up a pair of wins in singles as Nolan Witte defeated Seth Martin 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, while Skyler Benedict outlasted Seth Morris 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 at No. 2.
Centerville swept the doubles competition with Blake Shook and Josh Duke defeating Nate Gulde and Jeb Reece 6-0, 6-0 in the top position. At No. 2, Nathan Cheek and Bennett Walther won 6-1, 6-0 over Matthew Berry and Mark Cox.
Lincoln’s win came at No. 3 singles with Austin Lanich beating Nate Reed 6-2, 7-5.
In junior varsity action, Centerville won all three matches.
Zach Montour defeated Eric Castor 6-0 in singles. In doubles, Montour and Kobe Brown beat Erich Vernon and Michael Dalrymple 6-2. In another contest, Montour and Brown got past Jackson Reed and Carter Mettler 6-3.
The Golden Eagles (8-2, 1-1) are at Northeastern on Wednesday.
Centerville entertains Tri on Wednesday.
