MUNCIE, Ind. – A big second half was the difference for the Centerville girls basketball team as the Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday with a 47-29 victory over Muncie Burris.
Centerville led 18-17 at halftime before outscoring the Owls 14-5 in the third period. In the fourth, the Bulldogs had a 15-7 edge to put the game away.
Merissa Ross led the Bulldogs with 16 points and seven steals. Kaylin Smith and Madilyn Coomes tossed in seven points each. Smith also had 10 rebounds and three blocks.
Lauren Honkomp added six points and six assists, while Alex McFarland finished with six points. Savannah Kates contributed seven rebounds.
The Bulldogs (1-3) return to action at Connersville on Friday.
