CENTERVILLE, Ind. – The Centerville football team broke open a tight contest in the second half on Friday as the Bulldogs defeated Union County 42-8.
Chris Pritchett scored on a 4-yard run for the Bulldogs in the second quarter as they held a 7-0 advantage at halftime in the Tri-Eastern Conference affair.
Pritchett added scoring runs of 31 and nine yards in the third period as Centerville built a 21-0 lead. Pritchett finished the contest with 169 yards rushing.
In the final stanza, Centerville quarterback Dylan Benedict tossed touchdown passes to Cole Cooper and Myles Cunningham.
The Patriots got on the scoreboard on a 9-yard run by Caleb Greene, who led his team with 79 yards rushing.
Pritchett led the Bulldogs on defense with eight tackles. For the Patriots, Zach Weston finished with nine tackles.
Centerville (3-5, 3-3) is at Winchester (6-2, 5-1) next Friday as Union County (2-6, 1-5) entertains Tri (4-4, 3-3).
