RUSHVILLE, Ind. – Cambridge City’s 14U baseball team is continuing its successful tournament run. After claiming the District 6 title in the Junior League last weekend, the team is slated to face District 7 champion Franklin Township on Thursday.
The two squads meet for a doubleheader on Thursday in Rushville. It’s the best two-out-of-three series. If necessary, a decisive third contest would be played on Saturday. The winner of the three-game series moves on the 14U Indiana Little League State Tournament.
Last Saturday, Cambridge City advance to the next round with a 13-3 victory in five innings over host Rushville to win the district crown.
Mason Dick went the distance on the mound giving up four hits with six strikeouts. At the plate, Dick also had three hits and scored twice.
Jacob Ervin and Alex Hokey both had doubles in the win, while Bryce Pennington, Hayden Pierce, Jacob Longo, Cameron Gumm, Josh Miles and Darien Bishop all had singles to help the cause.
