CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Things will be different for the Centerville boys basketball team this year as Seve Beach takes over the program.
“We, our coaching staff and players, believe that as a whole we have a hardworking, athletic group of players,” Beach said.
“We are a relatively young team, at the varsity level, with only three seniors on the roster,” continued Beach, who was most recently an assistant at Greenfield-Central.
Devin Christian, Justyn North and Ricky Torres are Centerville’s seniors. Torres was an All-Tri-Eastern Conference Honorable Mention choice a year ago as the Bulldogs finished 13-9 with a 4-3 mark in the league.
The largest group of players represent the junior class made up of Alex Brandon, Myles Cunningham, Josh Duke, Tylee Hampton and Matt Stamper.
Michael Brewer and Justin DuPree, while Dante Torres is a freshman.
“We have been very pleased with the first handful of practices and the kid’s willingness to buy into what we are trying to accomplish,” Beach said.
“I believe that is what is already great about this group of players is that they are all incredibly coachable and hardworking kids,” Beach added. “That in itself can help teams lay a solid foundation needed whenever March rolls around and that is needed to cut down the nets. Overall, we are excited about our culture throughout the program.”
The Bulldogs start the season on the road against Eastern Hancock on Wednesday, Nov. 25.
Centerville’s first conference contest is at home with Northeastern on Friday, Dec. 5.
