RICHMOND, Ind. – The Centerville boys basketball team grabbed a small advantage in the third quarter on Saturday and the Bulldogs were able to hang on for a 44-42 win over Seton

“It was a hard-fought battle by both teams,” Centerville Head Coach Seve Beach said. “This game was a good part of our learning process and growing up.”

Seton led 20-16 at halftime before the Bulldogs finished the third frame in front 26-24 at the Athletics and Wellness Center on the campus of Earlham College.

“There will be times you have to dig down and find a way to win an ugly game,” Beach said. “We were able to do that tonight.”

Alex Brandon led the Bulldogs with 17 points, while Justin DuPree tossed in 13.

The Bulldogs (2-0) visit Northeastern for a Tri-Eastern Conference contest on Friday and then travel to Franklin County on Saturday.

“We have a few days of practice to keep growing and getting ready for the conference opener Friday and another road game Saturday,” Beach said.
