CENTERVILLE, Ind. – The Centerville swimming teams will be hosting the second annual Laps for Hadley Fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 30.
The event at the Centerville pool begins at 8 a.m. It is expected to end at noon.
This fundraiser benefits the Indiana Cuddle Cot Campaign and the swimming program.
Here is a statement from Centerville assistant coach Taylor Felker.
“My daughter, Hadley Janae, was born sleeping on July 27th, 2016. We were fortunate to have access to a Cuddle Cot. A Cuddle Cot is a cooling device that allows a child to be in the room with his/her parents after she/he has passed for up to 48 hours. Because of this device and the Indiana Cuddle Cot Campaign, we had time to process the loss of Hadley and time to say hello and goodbye. I love coaching swimming, but my calling in life is now to raise awareness and support families who experience the tragic loss of a baby whether it is miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. Our swimming and diving family came up with the idea to start a fundraiser last year called Laps for Hadley. We raised a lot of money for the team as well as money to help buy a Cot in Hadley’s memory. Her first Cuddle Cot is being placed at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. If you would like to contribute to this fundraiser, you can sponsor a swimmer, diver, or even a coach.”
Checks are to be made out to Centerville High School and can be sent before and after the event to:
