WINCHESTER, Ind. – The Centerville track teams both posted victories over Winchester on Thursday as the boys won 72-50 and the girls finished on top 88-35.
The Bulldogs won 10 events in the Tri-Eastern Conference affair with one individual double winner.
Nico Wankerl won the 300-meter hurdles (46.11) and the long jump (17’1″).
Centerville’s other winners were Dylan Benedict (110 hurdles, 17.37), Levi Parrish (1,600, 5:20.1), Reese VanDevender (200, 25.1), Ben Nevels (3,200, 11:46.8), Brandt Stapleton (high jump, 5’2”) and Seth Woolwine (discus, 112’11”).
The Bulldogs also won two of the three relays.
In the 3,200 race, Parrish, Nevels, Kaleb Duncan and Matthew Heath posted a time of 10:13.25. Benedict, Wankerl, Parrish and Vandevender won the 1,600 in 4:09.7.
Winchester had one multiple winner as Johnny Thornburg won the 100 (11.8) and the shot put (39’3″).
The other winners for the Falcons were Lance Frontz (400, 1:01.47) and Randy Beer (800, 2:33.4).
Winchester’s 400 relay squad of Josh Estep, Thornburg, Austin Lawrence and Marcus Smith also won in 48.17.
On the girls side, there were several individuals with multiple wins.
Centerville’s Ashley Toschlog won three times taking 1,600 in 5:43, the 800 in 2:41 and the 3,200 in 12:18.
Jolie Rusznak won both hurdle races finishing the 100 in 17.7 and the 300 in 56.0.
Emily Willis won the shot put (29’4.5″) and the discus (73’8″).
Merissa Ross was the other winner for Centerville in the 400 (1:10).
The Bulldogs also won all three relays.
The 3,200 relay squad of Toschlog, Kayla Newman, Anna Hawk and Ross had a time of 11:48.
Maddie Riggott, Aubrey Davis, Rusznak and Sophia Neher completed the 400 relay in 55.0.
The girls meet ended with Riggott, Hawk, Rusznak and Ross wining the 1,600 relay in 5:06.
Winchester’s Sarah Mallory finished first in three events as she won the long jump (15’9″), 100 (13.2), and the 200 (28.5).
Sydney Myers won the high jump (4’8″) for Winchester, which competes at the Muncie Relays on Saturday.
The Bulldogs participate in the Wayne County Relays at Lincoln on Tuesday.
