INDIANAPOLIS – Centerville swimmer Aubrey Davis competed for the final time on Friday night in the IHSAA State Finals at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Davis posted a time of 1:01.59 in the 100-yard backstroke in the prelims.
Her time was just off her school record of 1:01.51, which she established at last year’s state meet.
A team captain for the Bulldogs, Davis won the sectional title in the 100-yard backstroke as a junior and a senior to earn the trip to state.
She is the second Centerville swimmer to reach the state meet in the 100-yard backstroke.
Like Davis, Leanne Winnefeld qualified twice in 1984 and 1986.
