CENTERVILLE, Ind. – The Winchester girls basketball team had three players in double figures on Monday night as the Falcons posted a 58-53 victory over Centerville.
Mariah Roberts led the Falcons with 16 points as she added seven rebounds and four steals.
Shelby Miller and Becca Neville both recorded double-doubles.
Miller had 13 points and 10 rebounds with a pair of blocks. Neville had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Liz Pegg contributed eight points with seven coming in the final quarter as the Falcons took the lead midway through the period.
Centerville started the night with the first nine points of the contest and the Bulldogs managed to lead 14-7 after the opening period.
By the middle of the second frame, the Falcons had caught the Bulldogs at 21-21. Winchester led 25-24 at halftime.

At the end of the third quarter, Centerville was able to tie it at 36-36 when Lauren Honkomp had a steal and a basket. As the period came to a close, Kaylin Smith nailed a 3-pointer to give the Bulldogs a 39-36 advantage headed into the final quarter.
Late in the fourth, Roberts scored to give the Falcons a 48-46 lead and they were able to hold on from there.
The Bulldogs had four players in double digits with Merissa Ross topping the list with 13 points. Smith and Alex McFarland both tossed in a dozen as Honkomp finished with 10 points and six steals. Savanna Kates led Centerville with 10 rebounds.
Winchester won the JV contest 48-20 to go to 18-1.
Both teams return to the court on Thursday. The Falcons (9-11, 3-4) entertain Randolph Southern (9-8) at the Winchester Fieldhouse, while Centerville (4-12, 1-4) visits Tri (13-6, 3-3) for a TEC contest.
