BERNE, Ind. – The Winchester baseball team dropped a 6-5 decision on Tuesday as the Falcons opened the season at South Adams.
The Falcons led 4-0 when they surrendered five runs in the bottom of the fourth. The bounced back to tie the game at 5-5 with a run in the sixth.
The Starfires picked up the winning tally with one out the bottom of the seventh.
Michael Georgi led the Falcons with a pair of hits and he scored three times.
Dalton Hensley knocked in two runs.
Joseph Webb (0-1) took the loss as he went the distance on the mound for Winchester and gave up three earned runs with five strikeouts.
Winchester (0-1) entertains Liberty Christian on Thursday.
