PARKER CITY, Ind. – The Winchester boys basketball team advanced to the finals of the Randolph County Tournament on Thursday with a 52-39 victory over Randolph Southern.
Austin Lawrence and Michael Georgi both tossed in 14 points to lead the Falcons against the Rebels (1-8) in the contest at Monroe Central.
“Austin Lawrence and Michael Georgi played well on both ends of the floor,” Winchester Head Coach Matt Fine said.
Winchester (5-3) will meet Monroe Central in the title contest on Saturday after the Golden Bears defeated Union City 55-48 in the other semifinal affair.
“We are going to have to play better on Saturday night, if we are going to beat Monroe Central at their place,” Fine said.
The Falcons led 14-6 at the end of the opening period and they were able to maintain their advantage the rest of the way.
