Shoestring Catches Recommendations for the San Francisco Giants:

Barry Bonds: A five-time National League Most Valuable Player for the Giants, Barry Bonds won the award in 1993 and from 2001-2004. Bonds hit 586 of his all-time best 762 homers for the Giants. He was a 12-time all-star with eight Gold Gloves and a dozen Silver Sluggers.

Christy Mathewson: A member of the first induction class of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936, Christy Mathewson won 373 games in his career. Mathewson won over 30 games in four different seasons, while winning at least 20 contests in nine other years. He also threw three complete game shutouts in the 1905 World Series against the Philadelphia A’s.

Willie Mays: A two-time NL MVP in 1954 and 1965, Willie Mays also won the NL Rookie of the Year honor in 1951. Famous for his catch in the 1954 World Series, Mays blasted 660 career homers. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979, Mays played in 23 of his 24 all-star games as a Giant, while winning 11 Gold Gloves.

Mel Ott: Elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1951, Mel Ott had 511 homers for the Giants. Ott was an 11-time all-star, who led the NL in Home Runs six times in his career.
