Northeastern’s Sierra Gilmore was named the Tri-Eastern Conference Softball Player of the Year on Wednesday.
Gilmore led the fourth-ranked Knights with a .653 batting average as she topped the team with 64 hits, 17 homers, 36 RBI, 57 runs scored with nine stolen bases.
The Murray State bound Gilmore tied for the team lead with four triples, while finished second in doubles with 11.
The Knights, which won the Class 2A sectional title and tied Union County for the TEC crown, had Katie Schneider, Chaise Helton and Leah Hoskins join Gilmore on the All-TEC team.
Union County also had four players on the team as Emma Adams, Tara Williams, Kristen Klein and Makayla Pike were honored.
Class 1A state runner-up Tri had Kirsten Falck, Lauren Bouslog and Payton Moore make the squad.
Lincoln also had three players with Hannah Hall, Emmie Pugh and Laynie Russell earning a spot.
Centerville’s Kelsee Troutwine and Grace Delay were selected along with Hagerstown’s Lacee Dale and Ashley Strunk.
Rounding out the team were Winchester’s Morgan Friend and Union City’s Kelsey Zimmers.
