RICHMOND, Ind. – Sometimes Mother Nature wins.
Centerville and Hagerstown are scheduled to resume play in the Richmond Girls Tennis Sectional on Saturday after Friday’s postponement due to rain.
“They’ve been feeling good and we have a good chance,” Hagerstown Head Coach Stephanie Beeson said. “They were ready.”
The Bulldogs won a tight regular season contest with the Tigers, so Saturday’s continuation should remain close.
“We’re playing well at most positions,” Centerville Head Coach Randy Ecker said. “Last time, we won it was 3-2, so we don’t expect that to be any different.”
Here are the scores when play was stopped on Friday:
No. 1 Singles – Abby Stewart (C) and Savannah Houck (H) tied 4-4 in first set.
No. 2 Singles – Shelby Good (C) leads Kayla McFarland (H) 6-1, 4-0.
No. 3 Singles – Jacqueline Habzansky (H) leads Chloe Uphaus (C) 4-2 in first set.
