RICHMOND, Ind. – Lincoln’s girls basketball team Golden Eagles defeated Seton Catholic 71-16 on Saturday.
“I’ve been real pleased with how hard we’ve ran the floor,” Lincoln coach Rob Bills said of both contests this weekend. “We’ve always got things to work on, but one of the things that we’ve been preaching to the kids is our defense.”
Kerrigan Neff led the Golden Eagles with 21 points, while Kylei Klein added a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Laynie Russell tossed in 15 points with three treys.
“Laynie shot the ball really well,” Bills said.
Lincoln took command early with a 16-2 advantage at the first stop.
“We’re just trying to get our minds right,” Bills said. “I got what I needed out of them. I just want effort from them.”
“We did a really good job of taking care of the basketball,” Bills added. “We’re working on what we need to do and we’ve got a big load coming in next week.”
The Golden Eagles (2-0) welcome Lapel to Cambridge City next Friday before making a trip to Shenandoah the following night.
