CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – The Lincoln girls basketball team finished the regular season on Friday with a 53-44 victory over Northeastern.
The Knights led 14-13 after the first period of the Tri-Eastern Conference affair, but the Golden Eagles answered in the second frame to hold a 31-16 advantage by the intermission as they would lead the rest of the way.
Kerrigan Neff topped the Golden Eagles with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Kylei Klein finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Kelli Drake led the Knights with 15 points, while Mikayla Hornung tossed in a dozen points with a game-high 16 rebounds.
Lincoln (19-3, 5-2) and Northeastern (3-18, 1-6) both have byes in the Class 2A sectional hosted by the Knights.
The Golden Eagles face Tuesday’s Hagerstown-Union County winner on Friday at 6 p.m.
The Knights meet Tuesday’s Centerville-Winchester winner in Friday’s second contest.
