CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – Two good wins.
That’s how Lincoln Head Coach Rodney Klein described his boys basketball team’s championship on Saturday in the Healthy Hoopla Tournament.
“We played well as a team in both games, made the extra pass and played solid on the defensive end,” Klein said. “Two good wins for the Eagles.”
The Golden Eagles defeated Christel House Academy 67-37 in the title contest.
Garrett Pumphrey recorded his second triple-double of the day as he led the way for Lincoln with 22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks.
Hunter Ferris added 13 points and Chase Southerland tossed in 11. Bryant Hilbert grabbbed 10 rebounds.
Lincoln advanced to the final game with a 65-41 victory over Anderson Prep.
Pumphrey finished the semifinal affair with 21 points, 19 rebounds and 10 blocks.
Southerland contributed 17 points, while Ferris had 11 points and eight rebounds. James Pugh had nine points and Hilbert also had eight rebounds.
In the other morning game, Christel House beat Muncie Burris 62-46.
The Golden Eagles (3-0) are back in action on Friday at home against Union.
