CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – The Lincoln girls basketball team won the Healthy Hoopla Tournament on Thursday as the Golden Eagles got past Union County 33-28 in the title contest.
Olivia Davis led the Golden Eagles with nine points.
Emmie Pugh tossed in eight points and Allie Owens finished with seven.
For the Patriots, Madison Gray had a game-high 11 points.
Taylor Pinkerton added six points.
The Golden Eagles held a 9-5 lead at the first stop and were on top 16-9 by the intermission. The maintain their advantage after three periods with a 23-16 margin.
Lincoln’s Davis and Owens along with Union County’s Gray and Fayth Hill were named to the all-tournament team.
The First Round
Davis led the Golden Eagles with 21 points as they opened the event with a 66-30 victory over Seton.
Owens and Pugh both added 12 points, while Ryanne Davis and Laynie Russell tossed in seven each.
Union County posted a 45-39 win over Southwestern (Shelby) in its first contest.
Gray led the way with 19 points, while Pinkerton added nine.
Hill finished with six points.
Union County (6-9) entertains Seton on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
Lincoln (6-7) plays Centerville during the Wayne County Tournament in Hagerstown on Thursday, Jan. 4.
Southwestern defeated Seton 59-29 in the consolation game.
