WINCHESTER, Ind. – The Winchester girls basketball team finished the year with a come-from-behind 46-38 victory over Yorktown on Saturday afternoon.
Yorktown led 23-16 at the intermission before Winchester was able to respond by out scoring the Tigers 30-15 in the second half.
Maddie Lawrence tied the contest at 25-25 midway through the third quarter. At the end of the period, Lawrence drilled a 3-pointer to put the Golden Falcons on top 30-28.
Winchester led 32-31 after three frames and went on to put the game away in the final stanza.
Lawrence led Winchester with 17 points as she added three steals.
Kira Robinson had 13 points and six blocks. Liz Pegg finished with eight points with six in the final quarter.
The Golden Falcons won the JV contest 39-20. Becca Chamberlain led the way with 22 points. Sarah Graft added 13 points.
Winchester (11-3) is back in action on Wednesday against Union (Modoc) in the Randolph County Tournament at Union City.
