HARTFORD CITY, Ind. – The Winchester boys basketball team posted a 67-60 victory at Blackford on Saturday night.
Blackford began the contest with an 8-0 run before before Winchester was able to close the gap to 10-9 by the end of the first period.
The Golden Falcons held a 27-26 edge by halftime.
Blackford’s Luke Brown nailed a 35-foot shot at the buzzer to send the Bruins (8-2) into the locker room.
Brown had 31 points on the night, but none in the third quarter as the Golden Falcons built a 44-35 advantage by the end of the frame.
In the fourth period, Winchester hit 11-of-12 free throws to put the game away.
Trey Graft led Winchester with 15 points and Lukas Mills finished with 13.
Payton Sparks had 11 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Isaiah Jordan-Miller had 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. Boo Enis tossed in nine points
In the JV game, Nathaniel Dunica scored 18 points to lead Winchester to a 40-30 win. Ross Culy added 12 points. Levi Slusher had nine points.
Winchester (2-7, 1-1) faces Hagerstown (6-4, 1-1) at home in a Tri-Eastern Conference contest on Tuesday.
