YORKTOWN, Ind. – Shelby Miller scored 23 points on Tuesday night as she led the Winchester girls basketball team to a 68-58 win over Yorktown.
Miller also had 12 rebounds and two blocks.
Maddie Lawrence finished with 16 points and a team-high 16 rebounds. Becca Chamberlin tossed in 13 points with four rebounds.
Sarah Graft added seven points and two steals, while Brooklynn Hummel had three points and five rebounds.
Kira Robinson, who had foul issues, ended with two points and five rebounds. Hannah Graft had four points.
Winchester led 22-19 after one period, but Yorktown was able to finish the first half with a 44-43 advantage.
In the third quarter, the Golden Falcons responded to take a 58-52 lead before pulling away in the final stanza holding the Tigers to 14 points in the second half.
The Golden Falcons (2-0) play at home on Wednesday against Elwood.
