HAGERSTOWN, Ind. – Continued achievement is what Hagerstown Girls Basketball Head Coach Chris Oliger wants as this season progresses.
“The Lady Tigers are going to try and build on the success that they had last season,” Oliger said. “We have a good nucleus returning from last season and are really excited for this season.”
Hagerstown was 21-5 last year and 6-1 in the Tri-Eastern Conference. In addition to sharing the conference title, the Tigers won their first sectional since 2009.
The Tigers have three returning players recognized by the TEC in seniors Gabby Willis and Savannah Houck who were all-conference, while junior Brytni Dale was honorable mention.
Willis led the Tigers in scoring at 12.9 points per contest. Houck added 7.8 points and 5.7 rebounds a game.
Dale was the top rebounder for the Tigers last season at 6.4 per outing as she average 6.5 points a game.
Hailee Garrison is the third senior on the roster and she is joined by juniors Victoria Pierson, Caysey Farmer and Mekayla Todd.
Rounding out the roster are sophomores Lacee Dale, Beth Jenkins, Taylor Kelley, Madison Brown and freshman Lexi Eblen.
Hagerstown opens the season at home against Eastern Hancock on Saturday, Nov. 7
“The Lady Tigers are looking forward to a rough schedule that includes one of the best conferences around in the TEC,” Oliger said.
The Tigers start their conference schedule with a trip to Winchester on Wednesday, Nov. 25.
