WINCHESTER, Ind. – Brooklynn Hummel’s walk-off grand slam gave the Winchester softball team an 8-4 victory over Muncie Central on Thursday.
With Winchester trailing 4-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Jalanie Ruth smashed a double to lead off the frame for Winchester.
Halei Goforth then reached first on a dropped third strike that also allowed Ruth to advance. Goforth swiped second to put both runners in scoring position.
Rhamey Fetters tied the game as she tripled to make it 4-4.
With Fetters now at third, Nyah Trausch and Rikki Phenis were both intentionally walked to bring Hummel to the plate.
Hummel smashed her homer over the centerfield fence giving the Golden Falcons the victory.
Fetters led Winchester with three hits and four stolen bases.
The Golden Falcons are back in action Monday at Lincoln for a Tri-Eastern Conference contest.
