FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – The Union City girls basketball team won its first Tri-Eastern Conference on Friday with a 66-39 victory at Northeastern
Courtney Wise led the Indians with 27 points, while Baylee Hartman tossed in 11. Both players grabbed a dozen rebounds, while Hartman handed out six assists.
Mackenzie Green added 11 points and Kora Kerns had five assists and four steals.
Madi Clay led the Knights with 11 points and Olivia Harris finished with 10 points. Tatum Jordan contributed eight points.
Northeastern won the JV contest 30-25. Alizah Rankin led the Knights with seven points, while Aunika Railsback had six.
For Union City, Reagan Hoggatt had seven points and Isa Ruiz added six. Maddy Cox had 11 rebounds.
The Indians (3-1, 1-0) are at home on Saturday against South Adams. The Knights (0-5, 0-1) entertain Monroe Central on Tuesday.
