BERNE, Ind. – The Union City girls basketball team fell behind early on Saturday and couldn’t recover as the Indians dropped a 61-46 decision at South Adams.
The unbeaten Starfires (4-0) grabbed a 14-6 advantage after the first period and they were able to maintain their lead over the Indians (3-2) the rest of the way.
Baylee Hartman led Union City with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Courtney Wise was the only other player in double figures for the Indians as she finished with 10 points.
Justiss Cantu had four steals for Union City.
Union City won the JV contest 33-27 as Kelsie Burton pulled down nine rebounds.
The Indians return to their home court on Friday as they entertain Tri-Eastern Conference foe Union County.
