WINCHESTER, Ind. – Union City posted a come-from-behind 11-10 victory over Winchester in Tri-Eastern Conference action on Friday.
The Golden Falcons had the bats going early as they built a 7-0 advantage after three innings.
The Indians tied the contest in the fifth before Winchester answered in the bottom half of the frame as the Golden Falcons were on top 10-7.
Union City responded in the sixth inning as the Indians scored four times to take the lead for good.
“It was great to see our guys were unwilling to give up,” Union City Head Coach Bill Bradbury said in a press release. “They were willing to scratch and claw their way back into the game. They showed a ton of heart.”
Trevor Spence started on the mound for the Indians before giving way to Jacob Fulk, who earned the victory. Fulk gave up five hits and struck out three. Nic Wells picked up a save as he tossed two innings and did not allow a run on two hits.
The Indians had 13 hits as they were led by Zach Bradbury and Spence, who each had three hits and knocked in two runs.
Fulk, Cam Luster and Wells had two hits apiece. Luster, Fulk, and Gabe Loesch each drove in two runs. Keaton Collins had a hit.
Union City (2-1-1, 2-0) travels to Monroe Central on Tuesday.
