CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Brooke Killion officially decided that her golf career would continue at Huntington University.
On Wednesday, the Centerville senior signed with the NAIA school that competes in the Crossroads League.
“Huntington was always my top choice I felt more at home.” Killion said. “I felt like I connected more with Huntington’s team.”
The Foresters are coached by Rick Sholund.
“I absolutely love talking to the coach that I’m signing with and the team,” Killion said. “They really made me feel like part of the family.”
“I felt like I had been friends with them forever,” added Killion, who plans on studying occupational therapy. “It was just amazing how they included me in everything.”
Killion is the daughter of Mark and Alice, while also being a participant in the First Tee Program.
“I have a great support system,” she said. “They’ve all been amazing helping me.”
Centerville Head Coach Damon Anderson was pleased to have a second player sign to play college golf as Killion joins teammate Chloe Brown, who is headed to Freed-Hardeman University in Tennessee.
“That’s awesome,” Anderson said. “They’ve worked hard for it. I’ve had them since they were in seventh grade.”
Killion was the medalist during this fall’s Tri-Eastern Conference Meet with a career-best 84. She was an All-TEC performer for the fourth year in a row.
