ANDERSON, Ind. – Ranked No. 5 in Class 2A, the Northeastern boys basketball team defeated Liberty Christian 67-38 on Saturday.
Tyler Smith led the Knights with 27 points, eight rebounds and six assists against the defending Class 1A state champs in the game at Anderson University.
Nate Reynolds tossed in 15 points as he grabbed four rebounds.
Freeman Brou and Jordan Stolle also had four rebounds each.
Northeastern led after one period 19-8 and then began to put the game away with a 33-17 advantage by the intermission.
Winners of three straight, the Knights (14-4) entertain Tri-Eastern Conference foe Hagerstown on Thursday.
