MADISON, Ind. – The Northeastern baseball team started its season on Saturday with a pair of victories.
The Knights won the first contest 12-1 over Madison before beating Kankakee Valley 5-4 in the second game.
Kaleb Mikesell, Connor Bray, Spencer Benner, Dylan Baker, Kaleb Loaiza and Tyler Dale each had two hits in the opener.
Mason Fisher went five innings to get the win in the first contest giving up three hits with four strikeouts.
In the second affair, Tanner Wilson and Mikesell each had two hits against Kankakee Valley.
Wilson tossed the final three innings allowing a hit with three strikeouts to earn the win in the second contest.
Northeastern (2-0) is at Shenandoah on Monday.
