Knights Bounce Back to Beat Knightstown

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. – Northeastern’s boys basketball team rebounded from its second loss of the season on Friday with a 60-50 victory at Knightstown on Saturday.

“I thought we played harder for 32 minutes tonight than we did (Friday) night,” Northeastern Head Coach Brent Ross said. “It was a good team win.”

Tyler Smith led the Class 2A No. 3 Knights with 17 points against the Panthers (6-5).

Bailey Stewart and Nate Reynolds were also in double figures as they finished with 14 points each.

Robert Smith added nine points and a team-high nine rebounds.

Trailing 27-24 at halftime, the Knights reversed the momentum as they led 44-37 after three periods and they were able to maintain their distance the rest of the way.

Northeastern (10-2) is at home against Pendleton Heights next Saturday.
