COWAN, Ind. – Jenna McFarland led the Northeastern girls basketball team with 15 points on Saturday as the Knights defeated Cowan 41-27.
Northeastern led 11-4 after one period and 22-11 by halftime. The Knights extended their margin to 31-19 after three quarters before putting the contest away with 10 free throws in the final stanza.
Kasey Andrews added seven points, while Kelli Drake tossed in five points.
Emma Wright and Alizah Rankin had four points apiece with Madi Clay and Olivia Harris both adding three points.
Northeastern won the JV contest 35-33 as Willow Runyon led the way with 13 points. Jamie Andrews finished with 10 points.
The Knights (1-1) entertain Franklin County on Friday in their home opener.
