Knights Fall at Seton

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Northeastern girls basketball team dropped a hard-fought 37-35 decision on Saturday at Seton.

Seton’s Paige Klaine scored the game-winner with 12 seconds remaining.

“It’s a frustrating loss,” Northeastern coach Princess Darnell said.

The Knights were without an injured Mikayla Hornung.

“It changed our rotation,” Darnell said. “We were not hitting wide open shots. It just wasn’t our day.”

It was early as Northeastern jumped out to a 7-0 advantage in the contest as the Knights held a 16-9 lead after one period. They led 23-19 at the half and 26-22 after three quarters.

For the Knights, Madi Clay led the way with 11 points. Kelli Drake tossed in 10 points and grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds. Tatum Jordan had six points in 10 rebounds.

The Knights (1-9) travel to Ansonia on Monday.
