FOUNTAIN, CITY, Ind. – The Northeastern boys tennis team started it season on Wednesday with a 5-0 home loss to Richmond.
At No. 1 singles, Elijah Kenworthy fell 6-0, to Eric Hollingsworth. Nate Irwin was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Logan Mayer at No. 2. Miko Thompson dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Ryan Hollingsworth.
In doubles action at No. 1, Zach Gulley and Michael White lost 6-2, 6-0 to Josh Jones and George Dickman. At No. 2, Hunter Delk and Peyton Cohee were defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Justin Gibbel and Greg Lyons.
Northeastern (0-1) faces Franklin County in its first contest in Saturday’s New Castle Invitational.
