JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. – The Northeastern boys basketball team split a pair of games on Wednesday in the Jeffersonville Tournament.
The Knights opened the day with a 59-58 win over Class 4A LaPorte. In the semifinal round, the Knights dropped a 60-56 decision to Danville, which is ranked second in Class 3A.
Northeastern (8-2) is set to play the host Red Devils in the third place affair on Thursday.
Tyler Smith topped the Knights with 25 points against LaPorte (6-2) with Nate Reynolds tossing in 15. Freeman Brou contributed 10.
Against Danville (8-0), Smith led the way with 21 points, while Jordan Stolle finished with 12.
