Northeastern maintained its No. 3 spot in the latest Associated Press boys basketball poll for Class 2A.
The Knights (7-1) were idle over the last week since winning the Northeastern Tournament title with a 62-56 victory over Union County on Dec. 29.
Northeastern faces Lincoln (5-4) in the Wayne County Tournament on Thursday.
A familiar team to Tri-Eastern Conference fans is now in the No. 4 position. Shenandoah (8-0), which moved up two spots, has defeated two TEC schools so far this season with four more remaining on its schedule. The Raiders and Northeastern are not scheduled to play during the regular season.
