CENTERVILLE, Ind. – The Northeastern baseball team won its first game of the Class 2A sectional 4-1 over defending champion Knightstown on Thursday night at Centerville.
The Knights (14-9) meet the host Bulldogs (12-9) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Colton Alexander threw 6⅔ innings for the Knights earning the win as he gave up three hits with nine strike outs.
Hunter Kirkland got the final out to pick up a save.
Tanner Wilson had two hits for the Knights including a double as he drove in three runs.
Dylan Baker added a double and triple, while Mason Fisher had a run-scoring single. Kaleb Loaiza recorded the other hit for Northeastern.
