FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – In a Tri-Eastern Conference battle of ranked teams, No. 6 Northeastern got past No. 10 Hagerstown 47-40 on Thursday night.
The Knights led 15-8 after the first period and were able to hold off the Tigers at each stop the rest of the way.
Northeastern is 15-4 overall and the Knights are now the only unbeaten team in TEC play at 3-0, while the Tigers are 14-4, 4-1.
Tyler Smith topped the Knights with 12 points as Nate Reynolds and Freeman Brou finished with 10 points each.
Jalen Oliver led the Tigers with 13 points and Jared Andis tossed in seven.
Both teams are on the road for their next contests against TEC opponents.
Hagerstown visits Lincoln on Tuesday and Northeastern is at Union County next Friday, Feb. 10.
